Whose blog is the PRETTIEST?!?!
Look everybody, our blog went to the salon and got a makeover! But that's not the point of this entry. We're updating everybody on what we talked about at Corps day today. Since not everybody was there and we had a new member (Amy) we kind of just recapped a lot of the stuff from last time, but we've got a few new things:

  • We discussed the newsletter, and decided to see who on our committee has access to publishing programs that we could use. (i.e. Quark, NDesign, Publisher) We also discussed putting the newsletter online, and discussed whether we would just post the print version as a PDF or whether we'd have a regular site with a more web-friendly design.
  • Group project for Corps day that would teach us about communication skills.
  • See if our sites (Phyllis Wheatley, library, etc.) would be willing to add links to Americorps and CTEP on their websites.
  • Member day and/or night out. We could go bowling, have pizza, lunch, dinner, and, since the time for picnics is long past, we could have a snowman-building day! Yay!
  • Having a professional speaker come in and talk to our clients or us.
  • Provide blogs and wiki training to members. (So you can all have pretty blogs too, ha!)
  • To establish ground rules for the committee.

Finally, don't forget to e-mail us your bio at newsletter@technologypower.org if you haven't yet done so, and send us an experience or story about working at your site so we can put it in the newsletter -- don't worry about spelling or grammar; we'll edit it for you. Have both of these to us by Wednesday, Nov. 1. Thanks, and have a groovy day!
